The Neo-Realism movement (Italian Neo-Realism) is a national film movement that involves real people, (not professional actors) real sets and locations to create a story surronding the poor and working class. The Neo-Realism movement mostly took place after world war II where the economy and living conditions in Italy were low.  A person who participated in this movement is Vittorio De Sica with the movie Bicycle Thief.

Ricci, an unemployed father is desperate (as everyone else is at this time) to get a job. Fortunately he get the last good job which is hanging up posters. This job requires a bike which Ricci doesn't own. But soon Ricci and his wife saves up and eventually gets a new one. But of course... his bicycle is stolen. Leaving him not knowing what to do because without a bike he doesn't have a job.

This film was very brilliant and a reason why i think it did so well is because of the straight to the point title. This whole time they're introducing the character they are really making you emotionally attached to Ricci and his family that you only want to see them succeed. So i think they did a really good job at keeping your focus and constantly having you at the edge of you seats in anticipation.
